Meet El Doom and Miss Demolition
El Doom is all of my favorite villain traits all rolled into one cool character. From his name to his outfit to his backstory to his serious emotional instability, he serves as a great everyday foil for Cracker Ace, adding that "what else can go wrong" factor to every story. Living right next door to Cracker, anything can happen at anytime, and usually does...although El Doom's idea of evil is drastically different from that of most evil doers. To know what I mean, you'll have to read the comic when it starts up shortly.
Up next, Miss Demolition...
As Jeff and I were fleshing out this story, we figured we needed to hammer home the point that Cracker himself isn't much of a superhero with powers. He's just a guy who can take a beating, and occasionally win the day. What better way to demonstrate that than to create a superhero with super powers. Better yet, make that superhero a woman, and give Cracker the motivation to impress her.
Miss Demolition is the defender and protector of Torn Heights, also referred to as just "The Heights" the big city down the road from Cracker's trailer park.
Whelp, that's pretty much it for now. The next phase in the Cracker saga will begin with the debut of the webcomic sometime next week. So come on back and hang with us then, won't you?

Meet The Family Ace
Last week I introduced you to Cracker Ace, the hillbilly hero of one of Torn's upcoming webcomic series. Today, I'd like to introduce you to the rest of the Ace Family, starting with Cracker's ward, Billy Ray.
Where Cracker provides the humor through bold acts of ignorance while in the pursuit of justice, Billy Ray provides the much needed common sense. He's smart, he's well balanced emotionally, and even at the tender age of 10, he sometimes comes off as lightyears more mature than his guardian hero.
Now meet Granny Ace...
Granny is our source for all things blue. We're keeping aspects of her character (and history) a mystery for now, but I can say that Granny has absolutely no filter. If she thinks it, she says it, and she doesn't care if what she's saying makes you uncomfortable. She's too old to waste time worrying about crap like that.
So that's Cracker's trailer-mates and family members. Keep your eyes peeled for another update in a couple days. Thanks for stoppin' by!

Introducing, The Fighting Gentlemen
Meet Cracker Ace
If you don't like Vin Diesel, then replace the previous analogy with this one: ...like the Chinese play ping-pong.
If you don't like ping-pong or the Chinese, tough luck sister...I'm all outta analogies.
Anyway, I'm here today to not only introduce myself, but to also introduce Cracker Ace, a little dude I created and will be bringing to you via some webcomicry as both artist and co-writer with my main man Jeff very soon.
As you can see, he's very sexy with his big mullet, sideburns, wifebeater and cutoff jean shorts I lovingly refer to as "Jethros." Just incase you don't see the sexiness from that pose here's another that's sure to blow yer mind...
Oh yeah...like a ton of bricks to the chin, right? I knew it. You can't control yourself. Better get a bib, or yer gonna drool all over your keyboard.
So yeah, that's Cracker Ace, the star of some serious tomfoolery to be hittin' this very blog in the near future.
That's all for now. Keep checking back as I'll be introducing you to other important characters in the Cracker Ace story over the next week or so. And don't forget to read the post below this one detailing the Twist in the Night signing my fellow Tornians will be doing tomorrow! I'll be there in spirit as a renegade panty raider...so tighten those belts and sinch up those britches or you'll be sorry.
Seacrest...OUT!

Creative Thinking
I have something on my mind and I was going to at first put it on the "other" sites. Torn Comics is on Twitter, Facebook we're on myspace and I thought even though I am not quite sure of the readership here on Torn Comics.com, I though that this is where I should talk about what we are working on and how the process of creating good comic book content works (our way anyhow).
When we (Jenn, Bryce, Junior and myself) decided to create our own works and make them available to the public we started with separate graphic novels with there own subjects and never did the ideas mixed with each other (character A couldn't appear in book B for example). Why we started like that I do not know because what happened since is we would come up with a book like Junior Bruce's Cracker Ace (web comics soon to come by the way) and I had a book called Less than Evil, what we found is to put them in the same plane of existence IE. a universe. From that we thought about what else could be put in that little universe. We have since come up with a ton of characters and now have a full fledged universe like a Marvel or a DC. It just hit me that this scares the crap out of me. I've been a part of universe creation and I feel on an independent level any universe creation eventually looks lie and starts to look like one you've seen before.
What came to my mind since is something that put me at ease. Take DC for example, they started with one super hero and added another and another until the characters started crossing over and BAM! there is your universe. Well, we don't have the 50-60 plus years to establish that kind of depth. What I see what we are doing is more like the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, who made his universe and went in and told you about small character groups.
I think it is foolish to think that we can or even should even try to be a DC or a Marvel. That's not what I want us to be anyway. So in our universe, there are big heroes and big villains and we will touch on them, but we choose to follow the in my opinion more interesting characters. We have plans on release tales from the Torn Universe in the form of web comics. We should be presenting the first page of one of our stories next week and I hope you will read it like it and tell your friends about it. Hope to see all of you soon.

Talks of a Universe...has me all tingly.
Junior Bruce and I were talking the other night and we chatted for a couple of hours because we're like little girls on the phone. Anyhoo, we were talking about all the books we have in development and it occurred to us that we have the makings of an actual universe. I kind of always knew but it never really occurred to me. So we at Torn Comics (Jenn, Bryce, Junior and myself mainly) have been spending the last couple of day creating characters for our universe. Boy howdy, did we come up with some good ones. The reason I'm telling all of you this other then I'd like to think you're interested in what we are up to is we should be unveiling some of those characters here at Torncomics.com soon. So keep an eye out and I hope you like them.

Less than Evil Prelims Preview #1
This character is surely one of those who locks himself away in the basement to work on his girl-robots or ridding the internet of stupidity in epic text battles over which is the superior costume blend; spandex or polyester.
...it's pretty much the same thing, right?

Updated book schedule
You know, I haven't posted on this much lately. Sorry about that, I have a lot to do around here and never get a chance to catch everyone up on our goings on and such. For those who don't know I am the head writer, and Editor here at Torn Comics. So I tend to juggle a lot of things at once. Our book schedule is growing and changing almost daily. But for now let me show you some of out up coming projects that I an excited about.
Has Been: This book is turning out amazing and we keep adding more awesome by the day. Junior Bruce is the Artist and co-coordinator and we can't discuss the book without adding something great to it.
The Mechanic: Bryce Lee makes his long time character in his own book. I had the privilege of writing this script and it is going to be something special.
Price Check: Johnathan Ziegler writes and does the art for his unique take on the modern super hero. There are some great unique elements to this story that we can't wait to unleash on the world.
End Time: One of the most depressing stories I have ever wrote, but I love the story. With Art by Sean Moore, End Time is turning into a spectacular looking book.
Less Than Evil: This book is real close to my heart. Revolving around a group of not quite on top super villains, Less Than Evil was a joy of a comedy to write. Jenn Lee throws down some fantastic art on this book to make it one of the most ambitious projects we have ever set out to make.
Like I said there are more books on the table but I thought I would take a moment to give you a little taste of what to expect from Torn Comics.
I'll try to update more,
-Jeff

We're Torn Studios... and we have issues.
A little while back the guys and I had the amazing pleasure of doing a video interview with Mr. Tom Healy for his net show I Have Issues. It was a great time and, despite looking completely foolish, I think the three of us did good. Especially Jeff who did a helluva job doing a quick rundown of the copious amounts of awesome in the Twist in the Night Anthology. Not an easy feat, I assure you.
You can watch us here. Don't be shy! Let us know what you think and if you have any questions!
Books in production
I thought I would take a second to give off the list of books that Torn has currently in production. All the books listed are in some stage in production be it writing, penciling lettering or printing being the point in the process it is in. Anyway here is the list:
Stranger Danger Volume 1
The Fix
Twist in the Night: A Horror Anthology
Stranger Danger Volume 2
The Mechanic
End Time
Stranger Danger Volume 3
Has Been
Inner Fire: Book 1
I'll give updates when I can. Until then I hope you like what you have been seeing.

Pimping One of Our Own
Scotty Godlewski is just one of the 13 amazing people on Twist in the Night, our horror anthology due out this Halloween. We had the pleasure of meeting him (along with several other local artists/writers on the book) at the Phoenix comicon this past January. He, with four other hugely talented artists listed here, created Mysterious Adventure Magazine, which throws a modern twist on those great Silver Age anthologies. It's a fantastic book and put together so well. It's one of those indy books that should be high up on your to-buy list if you haven't already got your paws on it.
Keeping with the theme here keep an eye out for future entries about the creative bunch on Torn Studios books!

The second book to come out of the Torn Studios factory is The Fix, also to be released by Arcana Comics.
Writer: Jeff Aden
Penciler: Bryce Lee
Inker: Bryce Lee
Cover Art : Tony Parker
An undercover cop (Victor Campbell) enters an old warehouse to meet with "The Fixer", the muscle bound vigilante who has been independently and aggressively taking drug dealers off the streets. Victor is shocked by what he sees in the warehouse office, a former fellow SWAT officer (Kent Dawning) who had been assumed dead for over five years. But not only is Kent alive, he is the Fixer. Kent, who looks nothing like his former self, now looking more like a tweaked out drug addict tells the story of how he became fixer for the first time and how it has consumed him to the point where normal life is no longer a option to him. On a botched drug bust in a spectacular and bloody fight, Kent is injected with a experimental new narcotic (Hyperdrenaline) that transforms him into the Fixer who has far above average strength and feels no pain whatsoever, once the drug wears off all the pain rushes back to him like it just happened all at once.
Release date to be posted soon.

The difference between Torn Studios and Torn Comics:
Both Torn Studios and Comics are the same group of creators making comic projects the difference between the two are who is releasing the book. If Torn staffers do a comic project and release it threw another comic company the projest will be refered to as a Torn Studios project. Now there are projects that we ourselves release in that such case it falls under the Torn Comics banner.
You will get updates on this site from all four of us, letting you know about comming comic projects all made in house at Torn Studios. More posts to come so please say tuned.
